Walking 10,000 steps and more every day can really have wonderful effects not only on your body but also mental health. 10k steps should be a minimum level of steps you do each day. It is easy to add additional steps into your daily routine by simply walking wherever you can. Take the stairs instead of elevator or escalator, walk to the store for small grocery, walk to the gym and park your car further from your destination. The point of walking challenge is not also to sit all day and do nothing and just simply do your steps late at night but to do it consistently throughout the day. Well, it is always better to rather make these steps than not but it is much healthier to be up all day long. It is smart to just check your steps on your phone halfway through the day and see what still needs to be done to achieve your goal.

It is really the worst thing what you can do to your body and health to sit the whole day behind your laptop with no walking breaks. It can make you glumpy, irritated and unhappy. If you say that you don’t have time for walking, here you are – make the call you had planned or rethink your business strategy. Trust me, time flies then. To be honest walking is the most underrated form of exercise. Most importantly, it doesn’t spike your stress level in muscles in the same way as you go for a run. For people who have a lot stress in their life and problems with their hormones, it is really better to go for a long walk than to jog. You burn calories but not stressing your body. You will lose more weight because you body will not hold it in the stressed mode. 1 hour of dynamic walk might burn up to 300 kcal.

Walking boosts endorphins

Walking 10k steps and more for at least 2 weeks will make you feel lean and more energized. Your body will boost more endorphins than even before. Especially when you used to sit on your couch the whole day. You will feel happy and thankful for everything around you. You will be more motivated than ever before. You will feel more present with your physical body than ever before.

When you feel stressed you used to grab a few snacks or alcohol and make you feel even more guilty than before? Just go outside and go for a walk. Walking makes you slow down a bit and realize small things around you. You will feel to have more power over your emotions and you will be able to handle them better. Walking also successfully will teach you to have more patience and kindness towards other people. It will make you more calm and open minded.
